Burnely

By the 4th minute Harry Maguire had already seen red, it wasn't a red card that can be complained about. It was the slightest touch to bring down the Burnley man but in the position he was on the pitch and the rules of the game. He had to go. Demari Gray was removed and Wes Morgan brought on. Despite Morgan being on the pitch and his Morganism's Leicester took the league with a superb James Maddison free kick. Burnley however equalized and until half time looked the better side. The second half City looked tired a little bit but had some moments. Towards the end of the  second half, Burnley had been constantly pressuring City when somehow City ended up in the Burnley half, City won a corner which Burnley repelled and Tielemans got hold of the ball on the right flank. Looked up and crossed it in to the box, it took a slight deflection on its way but Morgan stuck his head on and the net ripled. Much to my girls confusion I was bouncing around the living room. City had 2 minutes to survive. Kasper made a great save to deny Burnley a quick equalizer (yet people still slate him) and then the final whistle happened. 

  • City have regained some spirit under Rodgers, something that Puel had eroded.
  • Morgan may have scored but he's still aging and he looks like it too. 
  • Tielemans played 90 minutes, he is a proper footballer and whatever it takes he needs to signed. 
  • The team looks happier. 
  • Rodgers played that game about as perfectly as a team down to 10 men could
Onwards and upwards. 

Thanks Top for firing Puel, Three weeks into Rodgers and difference is huge.

Arsenal

Today City played Arsenal, with it being a 12 o'clock kick off it meant me having to get my ill self out of bed and cough on the couch early on a Sunday morning. I wasn't disappointed, the performance that City put in was great. Since Puel has been sacked Rodgers has worked with the team, increased the positive use of possession, the body language of the players,  and obviously with the training has changed. Despite Puel basically having the same players we haven't seen a performance as awful as Crystal Palace since Puel left City. Yes, there's been blips, the Newcastle game were they took away Tielemans and several others played below par. The first half at West Ham wasn't good but today was the best performance I've seen in a long time. Arsenal were not good but too often under previous management we wouldn't have exploited it, but under Rodgers we did. Sheffield United - Shithousing and Rockets

Today City went to Sheffield to play the red and white team of Sheffield. Sheffield United are a good side, they've come out of the Championship playing good football, looking organized and looking to keep the ball. It wasn't going to be easy, any one that thought it was going was massively off the mark. When the lineup was announced was, there was no Wilfred Ndidi, why? He had made a poor mistake at Chelsea by giving the ball away and allowing Mason Mount to score but he atoned for his error with a second half header to earn City a point. He picked up a leg injury so missed the game, Hamza Choudhury replaced him and Mendy filled Choudhury's place on the bench. Choudhury quickly became the high light for City, his performance is simple to describe. Kantesque, he was everywhere, the center half pairing of Jonny Evans and Calgar Soyoncu loved his protection and at times he often played as a third center half.
